About the role
We’re looking for an experienced product manager, ideally with a background in the software or closely related industry. The mission is to plan and build a winning product roadmap that delivers to valuable use-cases and needs of the market, enabling us to accelerate growth and delight existing and future customers.
The first full-time Product Manager in the business, reporting to the CMO, will gather and prioritise customer requirements, aligning them to a range of established use-cases. The role will deliver our product strategy, through a world-beating product roadmap of features, experiences and integrations with other technology.
The Product Manager is a truly cross-functional role, which will work closely with the Exonar Engineering team, and with sales, marketing, and services teams, to champion the product with customers, prospects and partners.
You will have a few years’ experience in a Product Management function in a technology company, ideally in managing software-related products. You’ll be passionate about technology and data, with a good understanding of how software engineering teams work. You’ll also have a strong orientation to the commercial world and a passion for enabling our customers to solve customer problems. The successful candidate will strike the right balance of technical and commercial skills, blended in the right way to take our product forward.
You’ll be hungry to learn and grow as a product manager and your aspiration might be to lead a larger product management team in future. You’ll be an organised and methodical person, who leads successful relationships with a range of stakeholders to smooth delivery. You’ll be a strong communicator and influencer, with the ability to lead the product strategy and assist the decision making process within Exonar, as well as inspire our customers to believe in our roadmap.
The successful candidate
We’re looking for a very specific set of competencies that the successful candidate is likely to possess, with demonstrable experience as follows:
|Partner and Customer focus||You’ll think like our customers think, live your work as if you were ‘walking in their shoes’. You’ll understand what our partners need to help their customers too.|
|Relationship Building||You’ll have the ability to build productive relationships that make others, and you, successful. You’ll have the emotional intelligence to understand and respond to the needs of other stakeholders.|
|Resilience||The ability to construct solid rationale for prioritization and decision making, facing the challenge of different priorities of stakeholders over the product process and roadmap.|
|Technical Acumen||Understands the fundamentals of IT architectures, Enterprise IT environments and software|
|Creative problem solving||Able to use creativity to express ideas or concepts to others, or influence stakeholders, customers and partners to solve problems and balance needs.|
|Prioritisation & Organisation||Ability to self-organise and prioritise time to meet delivery timescales, to get the best job done|
More general attributes of our team members include a positive attitude, honesty and integrity, and interest in technology and an eagerness to learn and grow as a person.
We believe that data should be used to power and protect organisations and the people they serve. We have around 40 employees today, with offices in Reading, but with huge growth ambitions that could take us anywhere. We’ve proven during the pandemic that we’re strong, productive and are able to pull together to deliver, despite the situation.
