Exonar joins SASIG as a Supporter

Here at Exonar we are delighted to announce our supporter membership of The SASIG. A UK-founded scale-up software company specialising in data discovery at huge scale, Exonar is used by infosec professionals in enterprises to discover both structured and unstructured data right across the organisation, in order to secure it and reduce risk.

We are huge admirers of the job that The SASIG does in bringing the information and cyber security community together, to provide leadership and a credible voice and we are excited to have the opportunity to play a part.

At no time more so than now, while Covid-19 and the enforced home working scenario is creating new threats and major challenges for CISOs trying to protect their organisations, is it vitally important to be able to share information and experiences.

Martin Smith MBE, Founder of The SASIG comments “We are delighted to welcome Exonar as one of our small number of precious Supporters, to help us continue our work here at SASIG. The Exonar team understand clearly the SASIG’s objective, to improve trust in the online environment. Their offering, to help identify and value an organisation’s data treasury, provides an important and long-overdue element missing from many organisations’ security management systems – exactly what information is held and where – and complements to work of our other Supporters. They are also a lovely team to work with.”

Danny Reeves, Exonar’s CEO says “At Exonar we passionately believe that when organisations know their data, they can secure it more effectively. We are hugely excited to get involved with The SASIG members to discuss and debate the issues surrounding information security. The world is changing around us so fast right now, we look forward to sharing knowledge and experience and to be able to learn from each other.”

Exonar appoints new CEO as it looks to the next phase of expansion

After a Series A round of investment in 2019, and recent strengthening of the executive leadership team, technology scale-up veteran, Danny Reeves, today joins Exonar as the new CEO of the business.

Adrian Barrett, Founder and former CEO, will step aside but continue to be a shareholder and to act in an advisory role to the business. In Adrian’s words, “Having founded this business as a start-up, I always knew there would be a time when the leadership team I’ve been building would be ready to take Exonar through its next exciting period of growth and expansion.

“Now is the moment to hand the reins to Danny, a technology leader with a huge amount of experience in driving businesses through critical periods of scale-up. I am confident that the whole team at Exonar will be successful in accelerating the growth of the business, whilst retaining a laser focus on adding value to our customers in the information intelligence space in the months and years ahead.”

Reeves joins Exonar having spent thirty years in the technology industry, holding a number of senior leadership roles in large global organisations such as Deutsche Bank, Capita and Balfour Beatty. His most recent years have been spent building scale-up businesses in similar phases to Exonar’s current stage of development, with success stories including CBRE Romonet.

Commenting on his latest challenge, Reeves says, “I’m really excited to be joining Exonar today, an industry leading and highly respected company in the exciting, not to mention crucial, market of data discovery, governance and intelligence. I’m truly inspired by our mission to power and protect organisations and the people they serve. I’d like to congratulate Adrian on building an amazing business with great people and I’m really excited to be taking it forward into the next phase of its growth.”

Chairman of Exonar, Paddy Byrne, added, “As founder and CEO, Adrian has done an outstanding job to build Exonar into the business it is today. I thank him wholeheartedly on behalf of Exonar and its investors for his efforts and dedication. At the same time I’d like to warmly welcome Danny to the business. His experience, talent and energy will be a significant asset to Exonar as the company looks to its future through the next exciting phase of growth and expansion”.
