You’ll be part of a small technical team working with clients. There’s a large engineering team to back you up and a client consulting team to help customers get the best out of the platform once it’s deployed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring clients get an excellent level of service!
  • Working with customers to Integrate our platform into their environment.
  • Training on admin/use of the platform.
  • Helping our customers when they have a problem or need help.
  • Be proactive – e.g. monitoring, reporting, spotting issues before they get logged and looking for root cause and improvements in the platform.
  • Testing, deployment and troubleshooting of new product features.
  • Innovate and contribute to the uptake of the Exonar platform (this could be process, companion apps, scripts or training and development).
  • Take lessons and feedback from customers into the product and company processes.

Required profile, skills and experience

Proactive system integration and support will come as second nature to you and you’ll be able to demonstrate this through experience in customer facing positions.

The platform is a combination of our own hardware and software integrated as a cluster of appliances for the client. Our stack includes: CentOS; Hadoop; Postgres; ElasticSearch; and custom Java Middleware. We have a container based approach (LXC) and use puppet for software configuration.

We don’t expect you to know all of these but solid experience in linux system administration, networking and application deployment and support is expected.

You’ll be as comfortable demonstrating new features or joining a client call as you will be checking application logs, restarting services and delving into the heart of the system to troubleshoot an issue.

You must be able to demonstrate clear and logical thinking combined with the curiosity to understand the how, what, why and when of our technology.

Required profile, skills and experience

  • A career history within the Technology/Software industry

Role Description – the detail bit

The Exonar solution is uniquely placed to enable organisations to understand the content and intent of the data they hold. We use machine learning and big data technology to ingest, index and organise data at scale often as part of large information governance, data discovery and privacy programmes.

Following a period of rapid growth and investment, we are seeking a client consultant to engage with existing and prospective clients as part of the client consulting team. You’ll be acting as an advisor focusing on customer pains, challenges and objectives and linking that to a solution (technology, services & consulting) that will deliver a business outcome for our clients.

You will have excellent client facing skills and be able to draw on your pre-sales, delivery and technical knowledge to drive success for our clients. if you’re a self-starter, passionate about customers and comfortable working in a fast-paced matrix environment then this is a fantastic opportunity to work with leading edge technology and high-profile clients in a growing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead role between technical, commercial teams and the customer, taking ultimate responsibility for client success.

  • Knowledge and/or experience of Information or Cyber Security, Risk Management, eDiscovery Privacy or Information Governance and Compliance will be beneficial.

Exonar is Hiring – Senior Software Developer

Key Responsibilities


  • Working within the small engineering team you will be a seasoned (Java) Developer responsible for all aspects of day-to-day development; from developing new features, improving performance of our machine-learning components, to mentoring junior developers and engaging with front-of-house.
  • Your full stack experience will enable you to be writing Java code one day, and then plumbing it in to some Python code the next day
  • Writing modular, well tested code that remains easy to maintain as the codebase and business continues to scale
  • Understanding and applying industry best practices and ensuring your code can scale to processing billions of documents
  • Ensuring code quality via code review, automated testing and pair programming as required

Requirements


  • Technical degree or similar
  • Expert Java developer with years of enterprise or quality code development under your belt
  • Familiarity with git
  • Significant exposure to API design, service development, enterprise development patterns and messaging technologies
  • Comfortable in a linux environment
  • Experience working with some (ideally all, but we can bring you up to speed!) of the following technologies: HBase, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, RabbitMQ, Postgres, Scala, Python, Javascript/node.js
  • Familiarity with automation and build tools (Jenkins/ANT/Maven etc)

About the Job

The Exonar platform is uniquely placed to enable organisations to understand the content and intent of the documents that they hold in their unstructured data stores. We use machine learning and underlying big data technology to crawl, index and organise data instantly and at scale to make it searchable and actionable.

The biggest challenge facing most our clients today is GDPR compliance, the successful candidate will work directly with clients to locate and map the information that they hold and support remediation through training and onsite support.

The role is accountable for client outcomes from pre-sale to post, through programme delivery and reporting. Owns the day to day operational relationship with the client, accountable for leading client deliverables ranging from GDPR compliance, post data breach analysis to cloud migration.

 

Key Accountabilities


  • Work directly with clients’ personnel to lead deployments to define and meet project deliverables and drive the highest levels of satisfaction while maximising resources and repeatability
  • Run workshops, deployment planning, translating business issues into logical data searches, analysis. Lead and maintain operational relationships with clients and create executive reports for onward reporting.
  • Ensure product and user feedback as well as insight from deployments is incorporated to the platform and sales processes by providing regular feedback and insight to the team to maximise the potential of the platform
  • Contribute to training materials for clients, partners and Exonar personnel as well as platform user manuals and deliver training
  • Report deployment KPIs to monitor the success of the deployment
  • Collaborate as part of a close team to drive the growth of the company, contributing in any way possible toward the greater success of our company and our clients

Knowledge/Experience/Skills


  • Experience of working with business applications e.g. windows, a good user grasp of technology and ability to understand technical concepts and IT infrastructure. Essential to the role is the ability to extract and analyse data to provide meaningful insights and trends for the client
  • Experience of working with multiple clients in a business to business context and experience in a consultancy or consulting environment will be beneficial as will experience in the early stages of a new function or a start-up.
  • Knowledge and experience in Information or Cyber Security, Risk Management, Privacy or Information Governance and Compliance will be beneficial

Qualifications


There is no minimum formal qualification requirement however project management qualifications helpful and existing or previous government security clearance (SC or DV) will be beneficial.

Work Experience


Experience in professional services or leading projects would be a benefit, experience of working with information governance, privacy or information / cyber security would also be beneficial, as would working with a software or new product company.

Knowledge


Knowledge of privacy legislation, cyber security, information security, data protection, compliance, risk or information governance will be helpful.

Skills & Abilities

Circumstances


This is a client facing role so requires some mobility and occasional nights away mainly within the UK and flexibility of hours to suit peaks in demand and client requirements. Flexible working from home and unusual hours are welcome as long as it meets client and company requirements.
